Job Summary
Engage customers to answer merchandise inquiries and advise on product selections. Itemize and tally sales at the checkout counter using the POS system, then administer change accurately. Take inventory to identify items needing restocking or reordering, and effectively stock store shelves, racks, and tables with new or transferred merchandise. Organize products received from depots, clean display cases and aisles, and perform routine accounting tasks to record daily transactions. Open or secure the store as directed to ensure operational safety. This part-time role involves varying hours Monday through Sunday based on business needs, with a preference for candidates holding a high school diploma, one year of work history, and experience with cash handling.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to maneuver large bulky racks and lift an average of 25 pounds regularly
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment math test, background check, drug screen and physical
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Experience with cash handling processes
- Solid work history of at least one (1) year length at previous jobs is preferred
- The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic and be safety oriented
- Willing to perform light accounting duties, inventory counts and product ordering
