Job Summary
Engage with customers to answer inquiries about merchandise and advise on selections. Itemize and tally transactions at the checkout counter using the POS system, administering change accurately. Take inventory, examine merchandise for restocking needs, and organize products received from depots. Stock shelves, racks, cases, and tables with new or transferred items. Clean display cases, shelves, floors, and aisles. Perform routine accounting tasks to record daily transactions and ensure store safety by opening or securing the location as directed. Work full-time (40 hours/week) with varying shifts Monday through Saturday, including required Saturday work. Join the union upon hire.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to join the union upon hire -Teamsters Local 690
- Ability to maneuver large bulky racks and lift an average of 25 pounds regularly
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment math test, background check, drug screen
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Experience with cash handling processes
- Solid work history of at least one (1) year length at previous jobs is preferred
- The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic and be safety oriented
- Willing to perform light accounting duties, inventory counts and product ordering
