Job Summary
The Outlet Host greets and seats guests, offers seating choices, escorts guests to tables, and presents the menu. Maintains daily logbook communications between shifts and management, ensures proper dining room setup, and coordinates reservations and special functions. Must maintain regular attendance and perform other duties as assigned. Requires strong ability to understand guest requests and reservations, remember and promote menu items, move through crowded spaces, handle complaints with empathy, build positive relationships with guests and team members, and communicate clearly across staff and guests.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to comprehend guest requests, memos, reservations and similar written materials
- Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items
- Ability to move throughout a crowded room to seat guests with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences (supervisors, coworkers, public)
