Job Summary
Coach individual participants in skills necessary for excellent achievement in outdoor track. Maintain accurate records of team lists, injury reports, scores, and incident reports. Be available during the entire school year to provide guidance and counseling on scholastic achievement, college entrance, and citizenship. Enforce discipline, encourage sportsmanship, and supervise weight rooms, locker rooms, and shower areas before and after practices and contests. Directly supervise team members at home and away contests while attending all Athletic Department and MIAA meetings to stay informed on rule changes. Assist in distributing and collecting uniforms and equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of outdoor track and its rules
- Ability to instruct players in all facets of the sport
- Evidence of ability to get along with pupils, parents, colleagues, and other citizens
- CPR Certification
Desired Qualifications
- Previous outdoor track coaching experience
- Previous experience in either high school, college or both
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college
- Completion of the MIAA Coaches Education Class and/or other requirements by the MIAA
