Job Summary
Conduct engaging marine science lessons and discussions while assisting Lead Scientists with activities tailored to attendees of varying physical and mental abilities. Oversee setup, maintenance, and organization of program materials, and independently lead small groups when necessary to foster a supportive learning environment. Ensure participant safety and well-being throughout the program while collaborating with team members to deliver high-quality educational experiences in diverse outdoor settings. Work Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm during the mid-June to early September program, with availability required through mid-to-late August.
Required Qualifications
- Required participation for the entire duration of the program, typically Monday-Friday, 9:00 am–2:00 pm.
- Applicants must be available until mid to late August.
Desired Qualifications
- Passionate about conservation and our oceans.
- A degree in marine sciences, biology, education, or a closely related field is preferred.
- First Aid and CPR certification is preferred.
- Previous experience in scientific fieldwork or teaching is preferred.
- Ability to lead and conduct program activities in an outdoor setting.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
