Job Summary
Supervise a group of children and program activities while implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum that prioritizes health, safety, and adherence to YMCA Child Protection policies. Follow all legal and organizational standards, including emergency procedures and behavior guidance strategies, while maintaining the program site, equipment, and required records. Nurtures youth through purposeful, culturally relevant programming that encourages leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making, fostering positive relationships with families to discuss progress and connect them to resources. Project a professional image as a role model for children and staff, participating in family nights, meetings, and trainings.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one year or more of college
- Previous experience working with children (at least 6 months)
- Meets minimum age standards as established by state law and/or the Y
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications
- Child Abuse Prevention training
Desired Qualifications
- one year or more of college preferred
- Previous experience working with diverse populations preferred
- Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds
