Job Summary
Directs the YMCA’s 21st CCLC Out of School Learning (OSL) program in Muncie, coordinating and overseeing educational and family engagement facets, developing literacy curriculum aligned with Indiana standards, maintaining a supportive environment, and ensuring program quality and compliance. Responsibilities include member/participant service, volunteer relationships, family engagement, health and safety adherence, documentation, training attendance, and collaboration with partner organizations. Requires an associate degree in ECE/Child Development (or equivalent), CPR/First Aid certifications, 1–3 years’ experience with children (supervisory experience preferred), valid driver’s license with reliable transportation, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and YMCA software. Strong emphasis on leadership, community engagement, program management, and adherence to regulatory requirements (CACFP, CCDF, LLEP/licensing).
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in ECE/Child Development or equivalent (minimum of 24 credit hours Elementary Education, Child Development, Social Work, or related coursework) is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education preferred.
- Adult and Infant CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications required. Must be kept current.
- Child Abuse Prevention Training, I-Lead Mandatory Modules, Blood Borne Pathogens and Communicable Disease required. Must be kept current. An additional 12 hours of professional development is required yearly.
- One to three years of previous experience in working with children. Experience in supervising others preferred.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license, insurable driver’s record according to the YMCA insurance carriers and have reliable transportation to travel for business meeting, training events, YMCA site visits, vendors, and suppliers,
- Computer skills are needed, particularly with Microsoft Office and email applications, along with the ability to learn the internal YMCA software.
