Job Summary
Technology Technician responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment technology systems across Miller Waste Systems locations. Duties include testing and configuring devices (safety systems, GPS, RFID, cameras, scales), utilizing systems such as GEOTAB, Brigade, Lytx, Loadman; training staff to install/repair equipment technology; traveling to MWSI locations; generating reports; developing a maintenance program; ensuring preventative maintenance schedules and repairs are completed per policy; liaising with departments and vendors; performing other equipment repairs; recommending new technology and system improvements; must adhere to safety protocols and OHSA. Strong technical knowledge, ability to travel, and collaboration with internal teams and vendors are required.
Required Qualifications
- Must maintain a valid “G” Driver’s Licence and be able to travel to other Miller Waste Systems locations throughout Ontario.
- Strong technical knowledge of equipment.
- Must be able to work independently and have strong interpersonal, communication, self-management and organizational skills.
- Be willing to become a 310T Apprentice or hold a Red Seal/Truck and Coach Licence.
- Able to work extra hours, weekends and holidays as required.
- Knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook an asset.
- Must be capable of lifting 50+ pounds.
- Must be a team player.
