Job Summary
Drive commercial tractor-trailers to and from specified destinations, safely transporting parcels while adhering to state, local, and DOT regulations. Perform general fleet maintenance including fueling, cleaning, pre- and post-trip inspections, and proactive reporting of maintenance needs. Prepare bills of lading, maintain accurate electronic driving logs, and ensure compliance with hours of service rules. Communicate route status to supervisors and anticipate delivery challenges to ensure timeliness. Inspect truck equipment, secure cargo with proper gear, and perform emergency roadside repairs or operate forklifts as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A
- TSA-certified truck driver and obtain a STA number
- Current Department of Transportation Medical Card
- Acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Record)
- Pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam and road test
- Cargo screening if driving in CA
- No more than three (3) moving violations in the past 36 months (or combination of two (2) moving violations previous 12 months)
- No preventable accidents involving a fatality, bodily injuries treated away from the scene, or disabling damage to a motor vehicle within three years
- No conviction for driving while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs violation within the past seven (7) years
- Reside within a one-hour commute from Earth City, Mo
