Job Summary
Conduct daily safety checks, secure cargo using load bars, and perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Adhere to traffic regulations, report unsafe conditions to dispatch, and utilize GPS and CB radio for route communication. Operate a 53ft dry van with automatic transmission on a two-week or three-week OTR schedule, starting in Houston, TX, with no west coast routes. Enjoy 100% no-touch freight, no loading or lifting, and no force dispatch. Includes ELD and Easy-pass provided.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Updated medical card (within six months)
- Have a valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with two years of experience
- Hazmat and Tanker endorsements
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English to communicate with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals in English, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records
- No current CDL suspension or revocation
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and good DAC Report
- No tickets or accidents in the past three years
- Clean background
- Must pass a DOT physical and pre-employment drug screen
- Ability to learn effectively and operate a GPS
- Must be able to use handheld technology and smartphone applications
- Ability to scale up to 44,000 pounds
- Ability to secure loads with straps
- Ability to perform pre and post-trip instructions
- Driver cannot do backward loads
- No loaded trucks parked at home or on the side of the road (ONLY AT A MAJOR TRUCK STOP)
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for two weeks OTR, home five days or three weeks OTR, and one week home
