Job Summary
Walk the OTB floor, proactively greeting customers and providing friendly, courteous service while answering guest questions and building rapport. Quickly and accurately handle cash transactions, count and maintain cash banks, and troubleshoot minor repairs with wagering terminals and player tracking systems. Keep the gaming area clean, stocked, and secured by picking up trash and cleaning empty drinks. Calmly listen to guest concerns and complaints, attempting to resolve them, while ensuring compliance with all gaming laws, Title 31, and federal regulations. Maintain good working relations with staff, employees, and regulators, and efficiently perform duties in both calm and busy situations. Work more than 40 hours a week as required, subject to hazards including smoke, elevated noise levels, and uneven surfaces.
Required Qualifications
- Friendly personality comfortable initiating greetings and conversations
- Experience using basic tools
- Previous proven experience accurately counting, handling, and keeping track of money
- Ability to quickly learn, pari-mutuel equipment, and rules and regulations
- Basic understanding of, and experience using, computers and computer programs
- At least 21 years of age
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, including both written and verbal forms
- Professional appearance and personal hygiene as deemed appropriate by supervisor
- Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
- Verify right to work in the United States
- Must be able to work long hours under busy conditions
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in customer service role
- Previous pari-mutuel experience
