Job Summary

Conduct skilled occupational therapy evaluations and treatments for residents recovering from illness, injury, surgery, stroke, and functional decline. Develop and update individualized treatment plans focusing on ADLs, mobility, safety, and cognition while maintaining accurate clinical documentation. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including PT, ST, and nursing to support rehabilitation outcomes, discharge planning, and resident care planning meetings. Provide support for resident and family education initiatives and mentorship activities as needed. This role serves a diverse geriatric and subacute population with a focus on restoring independence in meaningful daily activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from an approved school of occupational therapy
  • State license to practice occupational therapy
  • Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing
  • Current, valid CPR/BLS credential
  • Sense of responsibility and ability to work well with residents, families, and other staff members
  • Qualities of maturity, diplomacy, and ability to work well with others
  • Ability to work with geriatric and chronically ill residents, as well as other professionals in a friendly and helpful manner
  • Ability to perform tasks to established standards of excellence
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level

Desired Qualifications

  • Two years' experience in occupational therapy
  • Interest in occupational therapy treatment programs for the geriatric and subacute populations utilizing a team approach
  • Ability to direct others necessary
