OT Automation Engineer (Onsite, Saluggia, English)

Job Summary
Provide onsite support for OT and automation systems, including PLC, SCADA, HMI, communication modules, and related industrial control systems. Troubleshoot PLC, SCADA, OPC/PI, and industrial communication issues while working with Siemens environments like TIA Portal, WinCC, and Step 7. Analyze PLC CPU diagnostics, resolve software and configuration issues, and perform firmware, memory, and module health checks. Execute patching, backups, restore procedures, and disaster recovery support in line with site QMS and GAMP 5 requirements. Coordinate with Engineering, Automation, IT, Production, Quality, OEMs, and vendors to support automation projects, upgrades, and system integrations. Maintain validated system baselines, trace I/O signals using technical documentation, and document changes according to established procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with OT, industrial automation, or control systems environments
- Strong knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems
- Hands-on experience with Siemens TIA Portal, WinCC, and Step 7
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as OPC, PI, Ethernet/IP, Profinet, and Profibus
- Understanding of PLC CPUs, I/O modules, firmware, and diagnostics
- Experience with OT patching, backups, restore procedures, and change control
- Ability to read E&I drawings, loop diagrams, I/O lists, and network diagrams
- Experience in GMP/GxP or validated environments
- Understanding of GAMP 5 and QMS processes
- Familiarity with OT cybersecurity concepts
- Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills
- Ability to support production-critical systems onsite

- Experience with Step 5, Beckhoff, or DeltaV
