Job Summary
OSP Field Inspector responsibilities include managing, monitoring, and inspecting underground placement and construction activities; overseeing contractors on site; ensuring safety, permits, and project adherence; coordinating material delivery and maintaining documentation; creating redline construction drawings and recording routing; assisting with fiber installation, splicing, testing, and utility locating; and traveling as needed to support project needs while maintaining daily production records and reporting to the Project Manager. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to travel outside the home area, lifting up to 60 pounds, outdoor/field work in all weather, and proficiency with MS Office and mobile devices.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of high school diploma or the equivalent required
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have the ability to pass pre-employment checks (criminal background check, motor vehicle record check, substance screening)
- Ability to travel and stay outside of home area for work on weekdays and weekends, as needed
- Ability to operate iPad & laptop to fulfill job requirements
- Ability to utilize MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience inspecting OSP (outside plant construction) preferred
- Fiber optic or construction experience and/or training preferred
- Able to travel and stay outside of the home area for work on weekdays and weekend, as needed
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds
- Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass pre-employment checks
