Job Summary
OSP Engineer to lead engineering tasks for road move and highway widening projects, coordinating with DOTs, municipalities, utilities, and contractors; perform field surveys and impact assessments on aerial, buried, and underground infrastructure; develop designs, construction packages, and relocation plans for fiber/copper cable, pole transfers, and conduit; provide cost estimates, materials lists, and project timelines; serve as primary engineering contact during planning, permitting, and construction; maintain CAD drawings and GIS updates; ensure compliance with RUS, NESC, and company design standards; role requires remote work with required fieldwork and proximity to Covington/New Orleans for site activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5+ years OSP Engineering experience, ideally with roadway relocation or utility coordination projects
- Strong knowledge of OSP design (aerial & underground), construction methods, and permitting
- Experience working with state DOTs, municipalities, and 3rd-party contractors
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, Microsoft Office, and OSP design software
- Excellent project management, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in field environments and manage multiple priorities
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to respond to changing project demands
- Strong listening skills with the ability to follow directions and apply feedback effectively
