Job Summary
OSP Engineer III at Pearce leads end-to-end engineering of complex outside plant programs (fiber and copper; aerial and underground; pole, direct-buried, and conduit). Responsibilities include designing and sealing engineering plans, splicing diagrams, loss budgets, BOMs and construction work prints; performing advanced loop-loss/size calculations; leading constructability reviews and route optimization; conducting field surveys for NESC compliance; overseeing permits and ROW/easements; coordinating with utilities; budgeting and tracking project performance; driving QA/QC through field validation and closeout; mentoring OSP Engineers I/II and other staff. Preferred qualifications emphasize mentoring teams, drafting/markup familiarity, strong communication, and PST hours with preference for Southwestern Washington. Required Qualifications
- Extensive OSP Engineering experience delivering complex multi-discipline projects (design → permit → construction readiness → closeout)
- Design mastery in work order engineering (including road moves), loss budgets, splicing plans, constructability, value engineering
- Hands-on field measurement experience; deep knowledge of NESC and client/industry OSP standards
- Permit/ROW/Joint Use experience; leadership in pole attachment, loading, make-ready coordination
- Budgeting and QA discipline; ability to build and track job budgets and perform QA/QC inspections
- Proficiency with CAD platforms, markup tools, and field measurement equipment; ability to use PCs and field laptops
