Job Summary
Lead field supervisors and oversee 15-25+ subcontractor crews performing aerial and underground fiber construction for large-scale FTTH and broadband deployment projects. Monitor project schedules, budgets, and productivity metrics while conducting field walks to verify construction quality and completion. Direct all aspects of OSP construction operations, including reviewing redlines, as-builts, production reports, and billing documentation for closeout. Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure work meets specifications and partner with internal teams and customers to resolve issues and maintain compliance with safety regulations. Requires current experience managing subcontractor crews in telecommunications environments, overseeing at least 3-5 supervisors, and handling projects involving 20,000 to 50,000 homes passed. Live in Memphis, TN, with a stable local schedule and no travel rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Current or recent experience as an Outside Plant (OSP) Construction Manager or Construction Project Manager overseeing fiber construction projects
- Experience managing multiple subcontractor crews in a telecommunications or utility construction environment
- Proven FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) construction experience
- Experience managing large-scale fiber deployment projects involving at least 20,000 to 50,000 homes passed
- Experience managing a team of at least 3-5 supervisors
- Demonstrated oversight of 15-25+ subcontractor crews
- Strong knowledge of aerial and/or underground fiber construction methods
- Experience with project documentation, including: Redlines, As-builts, Production tracking, Billing and invoicing documentation
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Have a clear career progression in OSP construction leadership, such as Lineman → Supervisor → Construction Manager
- Possess hands-on experience managing subcontractor crews rather than solely in-house personnel
- Have extensive experience with both field operations and construction documentation
- Be comfortable overseeing multiple active projects simultaneously
- Live in the Memphis area or have a demonstrated ability and willingness to relocate
