Job Summary
Orthopedic Surgeon needed at the Tucson VA Medical Center. Lead and provide clinical care in General Orthopedic Surgery with a subspecialty focus on shoulder surgery; manage routine orthopedic trauma; supervise residents and mid-level practitioners; coordinate with internal and external providers for cohesive patient care; participate in hospital/department committees and educational programs; engage in a collaborative call schedule with three other surgeons and work with a team of six mid-level practitioners and an orthopedic resident. The role involves training orthopedic residents from the University of Arizona and requires US citizenship, an MD/DO, an unrestricted license, VA-appropriate residency, and preferably fellowship training in shoulder surgery with board certification or eligibility.
Required Qualifications
- United States Citizenship
- Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in all the US States
- Successful completion of Residency Training in the USA
- Non-US Citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified US Citizens in accordance with VA Policy
