Job Summary
Orthopedic Sports Medicine Surgeon needed in Prince George's County, MD. Fellowship-trained, board-certified or board-eligible, to join a high-volume, community-based academic healthcare system. Responsibilities include diagnosing and managing sports-related musculoskeletal conditions, performing arthroscopic and open procedures across knee, shoulder, hip, elbow, and ankle, supporting local school/community athletic programs (preferred), taking call, documenting in the EHR, engaging in quality improvement, with optional teaching or research through academic affiliations. Requires MD/DO, completed Orthopedic Surgery residency, fellowship in Orthopedic Sports Medicine, Maryland license or eligibility, and proficiency in arthroscopic techniques (ACL recon, rotator cuff repair, labral repairs, meniscal surgery, cartilage restoration). Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care; outreach/community engagement a plus. Competitive benefits package offered. Required Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Orthopedic Surgery Residency
- Fellowship training in Orthopedic Sports Medicine
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
- Active Maryland medical license or eligibility to obtain one
- Proficiency in arthroscopic techniques, with experience in ACL reconstruction, rotator cuff repair, labral repairs, meniscal surgery, and cartilage restoration
