Job Summary
Orthopedic Sports Medicine Surgeon sought to join a fellowship-trained, board-certified/eligible surgical team in Prince George's County, MD. Responsibilities include diagnosing and managing sports-related musculoskeletal conditions in both surgical and non-surgical patients; performing advanced arthroscopic and open procedures of the knee, shoulder, hip, elbow, and ankle; caring for local school and community athletic programs (preferred); participating in call coverage; thorough EHR documentation; engagement in quality-improvement initiatives and team meetings; and optional involvement in clinical teaching or research through academic affiliations. The role emphasizes high-volume, community-based care within an academically connected health system and requires strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Orthopedic Surgery Residency
- Fellowship training in Orthopedic Sports Medicine
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
- Active Maryland medical license or eligibility to obtain one
- Proficiency in arthroscopic techniques, with experience in ACL reconstruction, rotator cuff repair, labral repairs, meniscal surgery, and cartilage restoration
