Job Summary
Orthopedic Physician Assistant duties in Naval Hospital Portsmouth include comprehensive musculoskeletal evaluation and treatment of injuries and chronic conditions, non-surgical musculoskeletal care, rehabilitation programs, and functional capacity testing. Responsibilities support orthopedic surgery through pre-admission evaluations, intraoperative assist duties (including retraction, suturing, and closure), postoperative care, and ongoing patient management. Daily rounds, review of labs and radiologic studies, and documentation of progress are expected, along with participation in on-call or departmental duties and electronic referrals.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree from an accredited institution certified by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education of the Physician Assistants
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted Physician Assistant license in any U.S. state, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, or U.S. Virgin Islands
- Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
