Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive history and physical examinations, interpret diagnostic data, and formulate treatment plans for patients in the emergency department, inpatient setting, and clinic. Provide hospital-based care including daily rounds, admissions, discharges, preoperative and postoperative management, and assist in surgical procedures as delegated. Perform orthopedic procedures such as nerve blocks, wound closure, joint injections, and closed reduction of fractures while maintaining accurate electronic health record documentation. Work under the supervision of an orthopedic surgeon with on-call coverage as scheduled, including some weekend shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience in Orthopedic Medicine including clinic and surgical assisting experience
- Graduate of accredited PA program
- Current CA PA license
- Current BLS certification
- Some calls, including weekends may be required
Desired Qualifications
- Additional experience in hospital-based orthopedic care or surgical assisting
- Advanced coursework or certification in orthopedic or surgical subspecialties
