Job Summary
Direct and implement individualized physical therapy plans to improve muscle function and daily living activities for patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and musculoskeletal disorders. Conduct thorough diagnostic evaluations, administer manual therapy techniques including traction and massage, and assess home environments to recommend modifications for safety. Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and collaborate within interdisciplinary teams to devise comprehensive treatment strategies. Evaluate and fit patients with orthotic or prosthetic devices while guiding them and families on therapeutic device usage.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
- A minimum of one year of professional experience as a physical therapist
- Current licensure to practice physical therapy in Virginia
- A valid driver's license
- Proof of automobile insurance
Desired Qualifications
- Certifications in CPR
- Training in advanced therapeutic techniques
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation software related to patient management
- Background in sports rehabilitation
- Experience treating post-operative orthopedic patients
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans effectively
