Job Summary
Design and implement individualized treatment plans to optimize physical function for clients with orthopedic conditions. Direct physical therapy treatments focusing on disability prevention, pain relief, and muscle function restoration while performing comprehensive evaluations using diagnostic tests. Supervise and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring adherence to care protocols and maintaining accurate clinical records including progress notes and discharge summaries. Assess clients' home environments to recommend mobility modifications and provide in-home therapy services as prescribed by physicians. Administer therapeutic modalities like traction and massage while instructing clients in self-management strategies. Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to evaluate and update care initiatives, communicating effectively with families regarding therapy devices and home exercise programs.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program
- Active state licensure as a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) in New Jersey
- A minimum of two years of clinical experience in an orthopedic setting
- Current certification in CPR
