Job Summary
Conduct thorough evaluations to understand patients' needs and develop personalized treatment programs based on medical history and physician referrals. Implement and adjust treatment plans for orthopedic patients, occasionally managing pediatric, neurologic, and sports medicine cases using evidence-based practices. Provide hands-on therapy to improve physical function while educating patients and families on recovery processes and home exercise programs. Monitor progress continuously to ensure optimal recovery and achieve defined therapeutic goals. This full-time, onsite role in Williamsburg, Virginia, requires a DPT with a valid state license and at least two years of clinical experience, including orthopedic rehabilitation. Basic Life Support certification is required, along with proficiency in documentation software. The position focuses on adult orthopedic patients with chronic pain or post-surgical recovery within a specialized rehabilitation facility.
Required Qualifications
- A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
- A valid State License in Physical Therapy, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- A minimum of two years of clinical experience in physical therapy, with emphasis on orthopedic rehabilitation.
- A Basic Life Support Certification from the American Heart Association.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with patients and caregivers.
- Proficiency in word processing and computer skills to assist with documentation and patient management.
Desired Qualifications
- Additional certifications in specialty areas relevant to orthopedic rehabilitation.
- Experience in outpatient therapy settings.
