Job Summary
Conduct thorough evaluations of patients referred by physicians to determine physical therapy needs and develop individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices. Utilize a variety of modalities including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and home exercise programs to enhance recovery, while documenting progress and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. Partner with a multidisciplinary team comprising physicians and occupational therapists to facilitate comprehensive care for orthopedic, pediatric, neurologic, and sports medicine patients. This full-time onsite role at Musculoskeletal Health Care Center in New York includes home care visits as needed, offering a supportive environment focused on continuous learning and high-quality patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited institution.
- A valid State License in Physical Therapy in New York.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in physical therapy, particularly within the orthopedic field.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for effective interaction with patients and healthcare team members.
- Proficiency in computer skills and knowledge of electronic health record systems to manage patient documentation efficiently.
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in home care settings or in a multidisciplinary clinical team is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of implementing evidence-based interventions that lead to positive patient outcomes.
