Job Summary

Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess patients' functional limitations and orthopedic conditions, then develop customized treatment plans tailored to individual needs. Provide expert consultations for referring providers regarding patient progress and care transitions while delivering high-quality, patient-centric interactions across diverse age groups. Perform ongoing evaluations and adjustments to treatment plans based on clinical findings, implementing effective therapeutic techniques for post-surgical rehabilitation, musculoskeletal injuries, and chronic pain. Communicate proficiently with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care, educate caregivers, and facilitate referrals. Engage in community outreach initiatives and quality improvement projects to enhance service delivery. Participate actively in staff development by attending meetings, engaging in self-directed learning, and pursuing continuing education opportunities. Work primarily with patients dealing with orthopedic issues to design evidence-based treatment programs that restore mobility and reduce pain.

Required Qualifications

  • A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited physical therapy program.
  • A valid state license to practice physical therapy in Virginia.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills that facilitate effective interactions with patients, families, and team members.
  • Competency in utilizing electronic medical records (EMR) and proficiency in word processing and other computer applications relevant to clinical practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to ensure preparedness for emergency situations within the clinical setting.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in an orthopedic or outpatient rehabilitation setting.
  • Familiarity with contemporary physical therapy practices, including manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercise protocols.
  • Experience with community outreach and public education initiatives related to pain management and rehabilitation.
