Job Summary
Direct and manage physical therapy programs focusing on restoring function and relieving pain for patients with musculoskeletal conditions. Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of each patient's physical capabilities, apply diagnostic methods to determine the best treatment plans, and implement individualized treatment plans that may include therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities such as traction and massage. Guide and supervise Physical Therapy Assistants during treatment sessions to ensure adherence to the prescribed plan of care, make home evaluations to assess the environment of patients and recommend modifications, and record and monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans under the guidance of physicians. Engage actively with interdisciplinary teams during case conferences to optimize treatment strategies and enhance patient care, instruct patients and their families on the management and usage of therapeutic equipment, and prepare and maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program
- Active state license as a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) with eligibility to practice in Virginia
- A minimum of two years of experience in a clinical setting, particularly with orthopedic patients
- Current CPR certification

- Experience in managing orthopedic injuries with an emphasis on post-surgical recovery
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems for efficient documentation and communication
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor support staff in a clinical environment
