Job Summary
Assess patients, formulate treatment plans, and implement orthotic bracing and TENS unit dispensing with hands-on instruction. Manage patient care, maintain consignment closets, and adapt communication styles to diverse populations while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Requires 2 years of sales or related health experience, proficiency with Windows applications, and certification as a Certified Fitter of Orthotics. Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2 years sales experience with relevant orthopedic products
- 2 years of related health experience, including experience fitting and delivering non-custom orthotic devices such as cervical orthoses not requiring more than minor modification; pressure gradient host; trusses; non-complex prefabricated spinal orthotics and prefabricated orthoses of upper and lower extremities
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Thorough understanding of medical terminology
- Active listening, reading and comprehension skills for analyzing reports, charts and correspondence
- Must be able to stoop, bend, reach and grab with arms and hands, manual dexterity
- Must be able to lift 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally
- Must be able to lift 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently
- Must be able to lift greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly
- Must be able to lift negligible amount of force
- Must be able to push and/or pull of arm or leg controls
- Must be able to work at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials
- Must be able to work in an area where patients enter
- Must be able to work directly with patients
- Must be able to work with specimens that could contain communicable diseases
- Must be able to work within a healthcare setting
- Must be able to work with hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste
- Must be able to reside in and work from areas other than Colorado, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, and Washington D.C.
