Job Summary
Orthopedic Medical Assistant at OrthoAtlanta supports patient flow and care in a busy orthopedic clinic. Responsibilities include escorting patients to exam rooms and assisting with dressing/undressing, reviewing registration details and completing EMR intake, coordinating care by preparing surgical orders and scheduling lab tests and diagnostic procedures, obtaining test results and managing medical clearances for surgeries, handling patient callbacks, prescriptions, and referrals, and demonstrating proper fitting of durable medical equipment (DME). The role requires organization, calmness in a busy clinic, professional communication, teamwork, and adherence to patient confidentiality. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a CMA/CNA/Ortho Tech program (or equivalent experience); 1+ year of medical office experience and EMR experience (Epic preferred) are noted as desirable. On-site, part-time or per diem position in Snellville, GA with benefits described as part of compensation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, or Certified Ortho Tech program (or equivalent experience)
- 1+ year of medical office experience preferred
- Experience with electronic medical records systems (Epic preferred)
- Positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and ability to multitask effectively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong sense of professionalism and patient confidentiality
