Job Summary
Orthopedic Medical Assistant-Float positioned in Augusta and Evans, GA. Full-time, on-site role supporting an orthopedic practice. Responsibilities include escorting patients to exam rooms and assisting with dressing/undressing, reviewing patient registration and EMR intake, preparing surgical orders, scheduling lab tests and diagnostic procedures, obtaining test results and managing surgical clearances, handling patient callbacks for prescriptions and referrals, monitoring physician queues, and providing DME support (fitting braces and soft goods). Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an accredited CMA/MA/Ortho Tech program (or equivalent experience), with 1+ year of medical office experience and experience with EMR systems (Epic preferred). The role emphasizes organization, calm efficiency in a busy clinic, professional communication, and a collaborative healthcare team environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, or Certified Ortho Tech program (or equivalent experience)
- 1+ year of medical office experience preferred
- Experience with electronic medical records systems (Epic preferred)
