Job Summary
Orthopedic Hand Surgeon to join Saint Alphonsus Medical Group in Boise, ID. Responsibilities include direct management of orthopedic hand patients: exams, in-office procedures, multiple joint injections, casting/bracing, pre-operative H&Ps, surgical intervention, post-operative follow-ups, and management of both acute and chronic non-surgical conditions. The surgeon collaborates with an established team and participates in call coverage with Level 2 Trauma and general orthopedics, typically Monday–Friday with seven days of on-call per month. The candidate will order, interpret, and evaluate labs/diagnostics, prescribe medications, and develop treatment plans, with involvement in trauma hand and general ortho call. Support team includes seven orthopedists, sports medicine physicians, podiatrists, APPs; currently serves four clinic locations and two hospitals with ASC involvement. Requirements include MD/DO, completed orthopedic residency, ABOS/AOBOS board certification (or within 3 years), completion of a Hand Fellowship, Idaho medical licensure, and DEA registration. Relocation is included in the package along with PTO, CME, malpractice insurance with tail, health/dental/vision, and retirement benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
- Successful completion of an ACGME accredited orthopedic residency program
- Board certification through the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS) or the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery (AOBOS) or obtain such certification within 3 years of employment
- Completion of a Hand Fellowship with keen ability to treat and manage complex hand trauma
- Obtain Idaho medical licensure and granting of privileges at SARMC and other health system affiliated hospitals as needed; valid controlled substance registration with Board of Pharmacy and DEA
