Job Summary
Orthopaedic Technologist for Duke Orthopaedics Clinic- Arringdon in Morrisville, NC. Works as a trained member of the orthopaedic team delivering patient care across inpatient, outpatient, ED, and OR settings. Responsibilities include fabrication and removal of casts and splints, application and removal of braces, prosthetics, orthotics and orthoses; fabricating splints; wound care; measuring and documenting patient data; assisting physicians with fracture/dislocation reductions, aspirations, and injections; and developing educational materials using evidence-based information. Requires high school diploma or equivalent; preferred completion of an accredited Orthopaedic Technology program; two years of full-time orthopaedic experience; NBCOT certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months). Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Two years full-time work experience in a hospital, clinic, office, or military setting working directly with orthopaedic patients
- Current certification as Orthopaedic Technologist Certified by NBCOT or must obtain within 6 months of hire date
- Minimum of 24 months of full-time orthopaedic technologist experience within the past 36 months OR completion of a qualified Orthopaedic Technologist training program within the past 12 months
