Job Summary
Evaluate and treat the full spectrum of shoulder and elbow pathology, including rotator cuff, labral, and instability conditions. Perform arthroscopic and open procedures such as rotator cuff repair, labral stabilization, and primary or revision shoulder arthroplasty. Manage elbow trauma and reconstructive procedures while providing inpatient consultation for Level I Trauma Center referrals. Supervise orthopedic residents and medical students in clinic and the operating room as part of the Sports rotation. Collaborate with advanced practice providers and support staff to manage day-to-day clinical responsibilities using the GW Hospital electronic health record. Participate in general orthopedic call rotation covering the Emergency Department.
Required Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school
- successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Orthopedic Surgery residency
- completion of a fellowship in Shoulder & Elbow Surgery
- Board Certified / Board Eligible by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS)
- Active or eligible District of Columbia medical license
- Eligible for and able to maintain medical staff privileges at GW Hospital
- Eligible for and able to maintain a faculty appointment at GW SMHS
