Job Summary
Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and/or Aquatics Director, the Swim Instructor will provide safe and challenging classes according to the YMCA and safety guidelines. Responsibilities include leading group swim instruction, ensuring water safety, assessing participants, and maintaining certification requirements. Requires current swim test competence and relevant certifications within 90 days of employment, with experience leading group exercise preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 16 years of age
- Current Swim Lesson Certification (YMCA or American Red Cross) or Water Exercise Certifications (YMCA, Arthritis Foundation, etc.)
- Must possess or obtain HCP within 90 days of employment, First Aid, Lifeguard or Aquatic Safety Assistant certification within 90 days of employment.
- Has the ability to swim as determined by passing a swim test (test details provided)
