Orthodontic Dental Assistant

Assist the orthodontist during procedures, including installing braces, adjusting wires, and placing aligners. Prepare and sterilize orthodontic instruments and equipment, fabricate and fit appliances like retainers under direction, and remove braces as needed. Maintain accurate patient records, document treatment progress, and take digital x-rays for assessment. Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and Dental Board requirements. Prepare tray setups, manage supply inventory, and maintain infection control standards in each operatory. Stay current with orthodontic advancements and maintain required certifications. Perform other duties as assigned.
