Job Summary
Prepare patients for orthodontic treatments, including cleaning teeth, taking X-Rays, and making impressions. Examine patient mouths for irregularities, manage records, and educate patients on oral hygiene. Assist the orthodontist during procedures such as adjusting braces, placing appliances, and debonding or rebonding brackets. Sterilize instruments, follow infection control protocols, and perform digital scanning for aligners and retainers. Deliver expanders, space maintainers, and Forsus appliances. Participate in marketing events and complete administrative tasks when traveling to sister clinics. Requires one year of orthodontic assisting experience, Saturday availability, and a dental radiography credential.
Required Qualifications
- Orthodontic assisting (1 year required)
- Availability on Saturdays
- High School Diploma of GED
- Ability to learn quickly and efficiently
- Can multitask
- Be professional, organized, and have strong attention to detail
- Have excellent communication skills
- Must possess (or be eligible to obtain) the applicable state-required dental radiography credential
- In the event you are traveling to another clinic, you are required to perform all duties and responsibilities of your role including administrative tasks
- 2 Saturdays per month
- Two 9:45am- 6:00pm Shifts per month
Desired Qualifications
- Certificate of completion for Orthodontic Assistant Courses (preferred)
