Assist the orthodontist during treatments by placing and removing braces, taking impressions, adjusting wires, and applying elastics. Prepare patients for procedures, explain treatments, and ensure proper positioning while maintaining a clean, organized clinical environment. Sterilize instruments, take diagnostic X-rays, and update patient records in the practice management system. Monitor inventory, reorder supplies, and provide post-treatment instructions on retainer care and follow-up visits. Educate patients on appliance maintenance and support a professional patient experience. Requires a high school diploma, preferred orthodontic assisting program completion, and 1–2 years of relevant experience.
