Job Summary
Deliver safe and effective intra-operative patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse while maintaining surgical department standards. Collect data, report pertinent nursing care information, and maintain accurate, timely documentation. Perform scrub duties, practice asepsis, and wear required personal protective equipment and respirators as needed. Carry out plans of care addressing patient and family emotional and educational needs while observing confidentiality. Take assigned calls and participate in the emergency call schedule. Attend in-services pertinent to surgery.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of Accredited School or Military trained
- Current BLS Certification
- Tech Surgery Certification through the National Center for Competency Testing [NCCT] required within one year of hire/ transfer
- Must be able to perform jobs in all patient care and operational areas subject to reasonable accommodations
- Must be able to employ all mandatory safety devices and procedures
- Must participate in the Respiratory Protection Program, which may include the wearing of a respirator
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment
- Must take Call as assigned and participate in Emergency Call Schedule
