Job Summary
ORR Teacher (Spanish/English) responsible for implementing and adhering to Office of Refugee Resettlement educational standards and policies, delivering a specialized curriculum for UC Placements, and collaborating with staff to foster a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment for youth. Requires bilingual Spanish/English instruction, a Bachelor’s degree, ESL/TESOL certification (or equivalent), 21+ years old, valid driver's license and clean record, and ability to pass background checks, drug screen, physical, and TB test. Schedule largely Monday–Friday at Canyon State Academy–Sycamore in Oracle, AZ; reports to the ORR Lead Teacher; works within the Education Department to support refugee education goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Certification by the relevant governing authority, Teaching English as a Second Language/Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages certification or other appropriate accrediting body
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Valid Driver's License and clean record
- Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test
- Be able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
