Job Summary
Orion Jr High English (ELA) & Yearbook Teacher needed to educate secondary students under the direction of the principal. Responsibilities include teaching English Language Arts and yearbook coursework, developing lesson plans aligned to the Board of Education-approved curriculum, adapting instruction to meet diverse student needs, utilizing classroom technology, maintaining classroom organization and safety, assessing student progress and maintaining records, communicating with parents about academic and personal growth, and collaborating with professional staff. The role requires attendance at faculty/department meetings, PLCs, and district activities, adherence to district policies and FERPA confidentiality, and a Utah teaching license with the appropriate ELA endorsement. The position is a full-time, 182-day contract with 40 hours per week and in-person presence at the school.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Utah Teaching/Educator License and relevant endorsement(s)
- Requires a Utah State Board of Education (USBE) approved cleared criminal background check
- Requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
