ORION Electrical Manufacturing Engineer Senior, 3rd shift

Job Summary
Plan and author procedures for Orion Spacecraft elements, creating harness installation work instructions and component integration guides. Determine build sequences, select tools, and solve production problems for mechanical and electrical assemblies. Investigate design and manufacturing factors regarding equipment availability and assembly ease. Develop assembly documentation, troubleshoot anomalies, and perform producibility reviews on engineering designs. Interface with program personnel to report project status. Support the third shift (Monday-Friday, 8:30pm-6am), with potential initial training on the first shift.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5-7 years of experience
- Knowledge of production manufacturing and assembly processes
- Experience with Engineering Change Management
- Experience in evaluating and dispositioning non-conformant hardware
- Minimum 1 year experience demonstrating use of SAP or similar ERP/MES software for generating manufacturing work instructions, routings, product structure, and manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM)
- Experience with harness assembly, instrumentations, and electrical components (hardware) installations
- Experience reviewing engineering drawings as well as providing technical support to the production floor
- Experience and understanding of configuration management practices and databases such as Windchill, EPDM, or similar
- Experience with CAD/CAM software such as Creo Parametric, CreoView, EdgeCAM, Delmia
- Good verbal and written communication including technical writing
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret various technical procedures and reports
- Ability to write reports and keep accurate documentation
- Advanced Skills in the Microsoft Office software suite
- Position is permanently located at KSC, FL
- Ability to travel as necessary
- Availability to train on first shift for a period of time, then work third shift
- Expected to adjust their schedule accordingly to support off-shifts and weekend activities if needed
