Job Summary
Orientation and Mobility Specialist responsible for conducting O&M assessments and training clients to use mobility aids, developing instructional plans, documenting cases, managing referrals, and following up to ensure client goals are met. Responsibilities include coordinating with case managers, preparing program reports, training clients in indoor/outdoor navigation, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of O&M methods and low-vision aids, and identifying partnerships and community programs. Requires a 4-year degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s in Vision Rehabilitation or related field), CPR certification, strong teaching and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. 2+ years of full-time experience teaching O&M in education or rehab settings preferred.
