Job Summary
Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities and deliver tailored instruction based on vision levels and mobility needs. Assess school campuses for travel safety, recommend environmental modifications, and help plan safe routes. Collaborate with parents, educators, and specialists to ensure comprehensive support, while monitoring student progress and adapting strategies to improve outcomes. Provide one-on-one or small group instruction, maintain accurate performance records, and guide classroom staff in implementing educational strategies. This part-time, on-site role serves PreK–12 students during the 2026–2027 school year with guaranteed hours, documentation time, and a competitive hourly rate.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- COMS Certification (ACVREP)
- Fingerprint background clearance
- Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications
- Physical movement functions, as needed, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities
Desired Qualifications
- graduate degree in Orientation & Mobility, Vision Studies, or related field
- 1+ years of experience in a school setting
- Experience working with children with visual impairments
- Knowledge of orientation and mobility assessments and instruction
- Organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in use of technology
