Job Summary
Provide organ and piano music for Sunday worship and special holiday services, directing the adult vocal choir, adult bell choir, and senior bell choir. Coordinate special music including guest musicians and school district ensembles while selecting worship music with the Pastor and Worship Team. Maintain instruments by scheduling tuning and repairs, manage the music library, and attend staff and Worship Team meetings. Offer music for weddings and funerals for additional compensation. This part-time role requires most Sunday mornings plus evening rehearsals and holidays, with a competitive rate based on skills. The church features a 1992 Schantz pipe organ, Kawai baby grand piano, and Malmark handbells.
Required Qualifications
- Strong organ and piano performance skills
- Experience directing choirs and bell choirs
- Formal music education or equivalent training
- Knowledge of worship traditions, liturgical seasons, and diverse church music styles
- Collaborative, dependable, and enthusiastic about Christian worship
- Ability to pass Pennsylvania childcare clearances
- Part-time employment status
- Availability for most Sunday mornings
- Availability for some evenings for rehearsals
- Availability for some holidays
Desired Qualifications
