Job Summary

Deliver safe, effective, and independent nursing care for pre/post-transplant patients on a 48-bed unit, performing thorough assessments and developing individualized care plans. Manage complex procedures including drains, chest tubes, surgical wounds, and administration of IV antibiotics, insulin, and heparin. Document care accurately, identify learning needs, and advocate for patients and families while recognizing cultural differences. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, delegate appropriately, and function in a developing leadership role including Charge Nurse responsibilities. Identify policy revision needs, analyze data to improve patient care, and maintain required clinical lattice points.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • 12 months of recent nursing experience within the past five years
  • Recent completion of a re-entry nursing program
  • Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience within the past five years
  • Valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing
  • BLS certification
  • Active compact/multistate license (eNLC) within 60 days of hire (if completing virtual care activities that may include multi-state practice)
  • 36-75 lbs lifting capability (0-33% of the work day)
  • 20-35 lbs lifting capability (34-66% of the workday)
  • 10-20 lbs lifting capability (67-100% of the workday)
  • Lifting 75 lbs max
  • Carrying of objects up to 35 lbs
  • Occasional to frequent standing & walking
  • Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing)
  • Blood-borne pathogen exposure tolerance
  • Bio-hazardous waste exposure tolerance
  • Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors exposure tolerance
  • Communicable diseases exposure tolerance
  • Electrical shock tolerance
  • Floor Surfaces tolerance

Desired Qualifications

  • Recent completion of an ADN-to-BSN program (for specific LPN/ADN candidates with obligation agreements)
