Organ Recovery Surgeon - Southeast - Traveling - Nationwide

Organ Recovery Surgeon for a nationwide thoracic transplant program. Responsible for supporting, organizing, conducting, and directing the Vituity HEART Thoracic Donor Organ Transplant Recovery Program, acting as liaison among administration, surgical and medical staff, performance measurement, protocol development, research, and quality improvement. Ensure donor heart and lung graft procurement aligns with policies and regulations, assist with ISHLT/UNOS/OPO compliance, prepare for inspections, promote quality assurance, coordinate training for nursing and transplant coordinators, ensure tissue typing and organ procurement services are available, and facilitate appropriate financial and operational efficiencies. Seek to maintain current knowledge through ongoing CME in thoracic transplant and thoracic surgery, with extensive documented transplant experience and UNOS program involvement. The role supports remote work with the broader Vituity community and participates in virtual trainings and events; locations include Denver, CO, with remote opportunities across the country.
