Job Summary
Organ Recovery Surgeon – Southeast; remote nationwide travel; responsible for supporting, organizing, conducting, and directing the Vituity HEART Thoracic Donor Organ Transplant Recovery Program, coordinating with administration, surgical and medical staff, ensuring tissue typing and procurement services, adherence to ISHLT/UNOS guidelines, and collaboration with transplant team to promote quality assurance, training, and operational efficiency; requires board-certified/eligible thoracic surgery credentials and active US medical license; remote-work options discussed, with in-person duties at US sites as needed; extensive experience in thoracic transplant surgery and UNOS membership preferred; opportunity to join a physician-owned partnership with comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Board Certified/Eligible Thoracic Surgeon
- Valid license to practice medicine in the contiguous United States
- Experience in thoracic transplant surgery and UNOS program participation
- CME requirements in thoracic transplantation or thoracic surgery
- Minimum transplant experience milestones (e.g., 20 thoracic transplants over >2 years)
- One year formal thoracic transplantation training or equivalent experience preferred
