Job Summary
Responsible for supporting, organizing, conducting, and directing the Vituity HEART Thoracic Donor Organ Transplant Recovery Program. This role includes liaison activities between Administration, Surgical Staff, Medical Staff, performance measurement, protocol development, research, and quality improvement for procurement of donor Heart and Lung grafts for thoracic transplantation. Ensure donor heart and lung graft procurement complies with ISHLT, UNOS, and OPO guidelines; assist with inspections, tissue typing, and availability of transplant services; coordinate with hospital staff for training, safety, and regulatory adherence; participate in committees and drive quality assurance and operational efficiencies across sites. Requires leadership in coordinating multidisciplinary teams, maintaining current knowledge in thoracic transplant care, and advancing the program within a nationwide remote-enabled framework.
Required Qualifications
- Board Certified/Eligible Thoracic Surgeon
- Valid license to practice medicine in one of the contiguous United States
- Experience requirements including UNOS membership, CMEs in thoracic transplant, and thoracic transplant procedures
