Job Summary
Order Picker reports to the Shipping Supervisor and is responsible for creating customer shipment orders, coordinating with the shipping department and warehouse staff to move finished product, operating equipment (sit-down/stand-up forklift, pallet jack), and using scanning devices to ensure accurate inventory and shipments. Tasks include lifting up to 50 lbs, assembling orders for daily FedEx/UPS pick-up, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, supporting cycle counts and sanitation, and complying with safety procedures in a food-manufacturing facility located in Amsterdam, NY. The role is a first-shift position (Tuesday–Friday, 6:00 am – 4:30 pm) in a unionized setting (BCTGM Local 53) with union benefits and on-site amenities.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic computer skills (typing)
- Ability to read and write in English
- Experience in light industrial or warehousing preferred
- Experience with forklift is a plus
- Experience with warehouse systems (SAP, Oracle)
- Experience with RF guns or Voice Pick
- Experience using manufacturing operation systems (HMI, Tabware)
